5G Package Releases 5G Business Enters New Journey
The 2019 China International Information and Communication Exhibition opens in Beijing on October 31. At the opening forum, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with the three major telecom operators and China Tower, held a 5g commercial launch ceremony, which marked the beginning of a new journey for China's 5g commercial. On the same day, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom officially released their respective 5g packages. The 5g basic package starts at a minimum of 128 yuan and ends at a maximum of 599 yuan. The package includes mobile traffic ranging from 30gb to 300gb. It is reported that China Mobile will deploy 5g networks in more than 50 cities nationwide this year to provide commercial services, and will provide 5g commercial services in cities above prefecture level in the country next year. Users can access 5g network using 5g terminals without changing cards or numbers. China Telecom's new 5g package can smoothly connect with the original package. The starting price of the 5g package is 129 yuan, and the maximum amount of new in-package traffic can reach 300gb. At the same time, Telecom will also optimize the price of out-of-package traffic to 3 yuan /gb to prevent high out-of-package traffic fees. China Unicom will vigorously promote "5g mobile phones, universal standards, popular prices and ubiquitous terminals" and promote the development of 5g mobile phones and ubiquitous smart terminals. "On the whole, 5g charges are not as expensive as netizens think, basically 4g packages' speed up without raising prices'". Fu Liang, an independent telecom analyst, believes that the first 5g package currently launched is only the initial package. With the gradual improvement of the 5g network, it is believed that future operators will continuously make adjustments according to the market demand and introduce more suitable and affordable 5g packages to meet the differentiated needs of different users. Moreover, operators will introduce diversified charging modes, which is different from charging by traffic in 4g era. China officially issued the 5g commercial license on June 6. Only four months later, the 5g commercial package was officially launched, which cannot be separated from the deployment of 5g network and the maturity of terminal products. According to information released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 5g business is progressing rapidly. As of mid-October, the three major operators have built more than 80,000 5g network base stations in China, and urban areas such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hangzhou have achieved continuous coverage. It is expected that more than 130,000 5g base stations will be opened by the end of the year. As of mid-September, there were 11 5g handsets commercially released in the Chinese market. After the 5g commercial license was officially issued, major manufacturers of 5g terminal construction such as Huawei, ZTE, oppo, vivo and Xiaomi have successively introduced 5g mobile phone products. Domestic brands have been ranked in the "first echelon" of 5g terminals. Oppo said that it will resonate with the network and charges, and will release Qualcomm's dual-mode 5g mobile phone in December, bringing users a better 5g experience and accelerating the popularization of 5g. Xiaomi plans to introduce more than 10 5g handsets next year, covering all mid-and high-end prices. One Plus plans to launch a dual-mode 5g phone in the fourth quarter of this year. Vivo said that it has launched two 5g mobile phones this year and will continue to increase the research and development of 5g technology in the future. "Qualcomm is very pleased to join hands with industrial chain partners to open the 5g era in the world's largest smartphone market." Meng Piao, chairman of Qualcomm China, said Qualcomm has joined hands with many partners to launch a number of 5g smartphones. Qualcomm will continue to work with the industry to bring more innovative 5g-enabled applications to more consumers and a wider range of industries. The joint launch of 5g commerce by the three major operators is an important manifestation of accelerating the pace of 5g commerce and realizing China's 5g development goals. Chen Zhaoxiong, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said: First, taking the official launch of 5g as an opportunity, accelerate the deployment of 5g networks, promote the construction of new infrastructure such as artificial intelligence, industrial Internet and Internet of Things, consolidate the network foundation and build a solid support for development. The second is to promote the deep integration of the new generation of information technology and the real economy, accelerate the integration and application of 5g in vertical industries such as industry, transportation, energy and agriculture, and expand the momentum of development. The third is to promote the innovative application of 5g in the fields of education, medical care, government services, smart cities and other fields, optimize the supply mode of public services, improve digital governance, optimize the development environment, and promote the modernization of the national governance system and governance capability.
